SSH-7416 - StrictModes option in SSH

This information is provided as part of the Lynis community project. It is related to Lynis control SSH-7416 and should be considered as-is and without guarantees. Any advice and commands should be tested before implementing them in production environments.

Description

SSH has the option to check for file permissions before use configuration and other files. With the StrictModes option, it will only use those files which are properly configured (e.g. not using chmod 777 applied).

How to solve

Set StrictModes to yes in /etc/ssh/sshd_config
